Dr. Paul C. Riley graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans in 1983 and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. The focus of his practice has been the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders and orofacial pain. He is a pioneer in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in Mississippi, having inserted the prototypes of oral appliances for sleep apnea as early as 1988.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Orofacial Pain since 1995, Dr. Riley is the only doctor in private practice in central and northern Mississippi with board certification specifically in the field of Orofacial Pain. On March 31, 2020, the American Dental association granted specialty status to the field of Orofacial Pain, recognizing the exam administered by the American Board of Orofacial Pain as the official certifying exam for the specialty of Orofacial Pain. Dr. Riley has presented numerous lectures on the diagnosis and treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders to various groups of dentists, physicians, physical therapy students, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat) residents, and neurology residents. In addition, he has served as a clinical instructor in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. Dr. Riley is married to Candy Riley. They have two sons, Cole, an endodontist in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Ryan, who will complete his endodontic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
